FreeCell Rules

1. 1All 52 cards are dealt face-up to 8 tableau columns (columns 1–4 get 7 cards, columns 5–8 get 6 cards).
2. 2There are 4 free cells — temporary holding spots for single cards.
3. 3There are 4 foundation piles, one per suit, built up from Ace to King.
4. 4In the tableau, build downward in alternating colors (same as Klondike).
5. 5You may move a single card to a free cell, another tableau column, or a foundation.
6. 6You may move multiple cards as a group if the number of empty free cells and empty columns allows it. The formula: max movable = (empty free cells + 1) × 2^(empty columns), excluding the destination column. The group must descend in alternating colors.
7. 7Only one card may occupy a free cell at a time.
